i’m going to buy 60mm f2.8 macro usm lens..should i have buy extension tube too??..?
due to my survey, i think this lens is the best suit with my canon 40D… should i have buy extension tube too..?? i’m not quite understand about this stuff..and what the advantage and disadvantage if i use it…
The lens you are about to buy does not need an extension tub to give you full 1:1 magnification. If you want larger than life images then may find using an extension tube to your liking.
The only drawbacks to using extension tubes are the extremely shallow depth of field and the additional exposure needed to get a proper exposure. Usually any “macro” work that is not done in bright sun, includes a macro flash attachment.
You may find it advantageous to take a class in photography where you can learn a lot about using your camera and avoid a lot of frustration.
